I wish that I was the weather, you'd bring me up in conversation
forever. And when it rained, I'd be the talk of the day.” - John Mayer

What is your favorite day of the week?
DEFINITELY Sunday. :) Unless I have something to do on Sunday. I love lazy Sundays. :)
Ever run for office? (School, club, organization, politics, etc.) Did you get elected?
Ran for band president in high school and lost by like two votes to this guy who did an awful job and was voted in just because he was popular. In retrospect, I had more fun my senior year just tooling around and being a section leader, so I'm glad that guy won instead of me.
Other than that, I'm generally not a fan of running for things. There's always this popularity aspect that's kind of nauseating, not to mention hating to speak publicly to large groups of people.
I downloaded the Mortal City album yesterday morning and have been listening non-stop ever since... I absolutely love every song on this album. February is possibly the saddest, most beautiful song ever, and The Christians and the Pagans make me laugh even though underneath the humor it's this really sweet, beautiful song about everyone loving each other. I just love the whole album, and I'm sharing some tracks:
Who was your best (or worst) elementary school teacher?
Submitted by Minnow.
Best: My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Bricker. I ran into her when I was in college and she still remembered my name... really great woman. :) I actually started reading in kindergarten and Mrs. Bricker introduced me to Amelia Bedelia.
Worst: All gym teachers. Evil people, gym teachers.
Ohhhhh, we had so much fun this weekend! Jim's birthday celebration was muchos muchos fun. :) Awesomely cool things we did:
1. We went to see Jim Gaffigan at his first show of the Beyond the Pale tour in Lakewood, which rocked. He messed with the lighting guy, he did the classic Hot Pocket bit, and his encore about sex was hilarious. :) Really good time and Jim had a really good time, which is what was important.
2. We checked in to the Radisson, which had Sleep Number beds, free wi-fi, a fridge, and apples at the reception desk. Jim stole apples, we dumped our stuff off and debated about food for dinner until deciding that the Winking Lizard was the best option since they had food and beer and were about 100 ft from the hotel entrance.
3. Met up with Adam, Jim's cousin Paul, Kate, Ken, and Kate's brother Kevin at Winking Lizard:
5. On Sunday we woke up, checked out (I scored free sunglasses from under the bed before we left), and headed to Beachwood Place, this crazy shopping mall for ultra rich people that I've never been too, and I found a new hat and scarf. Jim bought a new wallet and tolerated my hat-related antics the whole way home:
Tonight we're going out for dinner and then the birthday festivities are finally over after three days. :)

What method do you use to prepare your coffee or tea?
Submitted by AgentBouche.
I like to brew tea with water from a kettle and then refridgerate to drink cold. Sometimes I even get cold water and throw a tea bag in for the day and it slowly flavors my water (just keep adding h2o throughout the day). I have a Starbucks mug that goes with me everywhere, and it always has either Starbucks iced green tea (which is $.50 with a Starbucks mug as a refill - score!), or the ginger peach tea that I brew at home and keep in a cold pitcher in the fridge.
I've given up coffee and I stick with tea now, so I'm usually in posession of some time of tea, and I always like it better cold. :)
And I still don't know what to think about the rape, the girl, or the family. Difficult issues, also a very triggering book if you're a self injurer, which I had no way of knowing from the book jacket or synopsis. I went through a rough few days getting through the book without feeling constantly triggered.
Who taught you how to cook?
Submitted by Donna.
Holy mother of god, no one. I cannot cook to save my life. It's basically the big joke about Jim and I: that I can't cook and he's an excellent cook. I am basically planning on being the worst stereotypical wife ever, since I'm awful about cleaning too.
I do laundry. It's my one domestic skill in the world.
